All my guitars switch between E and Eb and I haven't had to change anything. Unless there is an issue once you tune to Eb, you don't need to do anything.

You can blame all the super downtuned teenage chuggers for the lack of 6 strings. 6 strings just aren't br00tz enough and this is what happens. Ibanez is keeping with the current market.

You're going to see paint on the sandpaper. 2000 isn't going to go through the paint unless you did like one coat. If there is a few coats on there you're not going to go through it.

The 1570 is a better guitar than any of the premiums. I have a RGR1570 and it's my main guitar, I don't play anything else anymore. The Edge Pro is a great trem, one of the best you will ever find.

A floating trem is not good for changing tunings. It's that simple. Put it in one tuning and keep it there. Or block your trem.

I would open up the guitar and just fix it. Chances are you have a loose wire or two that you can just solder and have a working guitar without spending any more money. RG120 is a really low end...
