Open notes sound totally fine unplugged or without distortion, it seems to be distortion that's pushing them over.

Why is Ska in the same category as Punk? Sure 3rd wave bands can be easily put into punk cause 3rd wave is nearly all ska-core bands, but real ska fans will agree that ska has existed without punk...
