i've always found the standard 1 11/16" nut...

i've always found the standard 1 11/16" nut necks on guitars to be uncomfortable, but this neck is pretty much standard. btw, unplugged it sounds like cardboard.

no, you didn't miss anything. it's a mini dread with electronics, and a pretty decent one. higher end mini dreads have much higher prices.

they're not my numbers - they're copy/pasted from the d'addario website, and again, a 12 string guitar will have much shorter scale than a bass. btw, that's about 200 pounds, not 100...

IMO the yamaha is not better. i don't care for either of your two choices particularly, but i'd prefer the sonoran to the APX. and i definitely second Captaincranky's recommendations.
