Everything in here was made in Ableton. The bass was actually made of some pretty basic waveforms (sin and triangle waves from what I remember) layered together.

On the faster tapping parts following that, I think you could really benefit from some effects, specifically some reverb or a filtered delay....

I just looked them up, and wow, I'm going to be busy for awhile. The Album Leaf and Sigur Ros are two of my biggest influences, and Mum sounds like an awesome blend of the two. :)
