HA! I don't actually get where that comes from...

HA! I don't actually get where that comes from because this doesn't seem particularly djenty not to mention, IMO, the amp, boost and playing are the big factors in getting that sound.

Nope, they don't impact the file format. What they DO cause is latency. It's generally better to record at a lower buffer rate (e.g 128 or less) and mix at a higher rate.
