Most sites ive been on have 2 mm on both sides from 12th fret.
But i prefer a bit higher action, its too easy to bend with low.
Anyway experiment. What is good for others might not fit you.

Mixing the major and minor scale?

Im really curious if i got it right, you can use major scale and the minor pentatonic scale together, does the scale have some seperate name. Or are they just seperate scales....

I play by ear. I dont know shit about scales. Just practise on some blues songs with notes that sound good and when band lead playing is in need, you do the same, improvise.
