I'm pretty sure you could buy a Fender pickguard and it would fit. I think it'd look nicer than spray painting your current one, but I'm not here to judge your painting skills.

It seems to be just as expensive as a Rickenbacker. Haha. I do play alot of the stuff around the music shop, I just was curious about these two basses because we don't have them in stock.

I'm also somewhere in between. It really depends on the song. Sometimes a Claypool-esque solo sounds great, other times, repeated eighth notes does. It's all about feel and knowing where you belong...
