I use DR DDT 12-60's for drop A on a 25.5 in scale guitar and they're a bit loose, but should be just about right for drop A#. Those or ernie ball "not even slinky" would be my recommendation.

You aren't going to get your peavey sound out of a marshall if you like what you have.
