I'd go for either an A13 or F#13 chord. The F#13...
I'd go for either an A13 or F#13 chord. The F#13 works better for completing the loop, and ending on an A13 will resolve the tension nicely. |

If he's only been playing a month then he should start by just playing the same as guitar I suppose. Get him to play the root note of the guitar, then encourage him to add fills every now and then. |

Any Minor chord, really... though the sadness usually comes more from the rhythm than the chord itself. As for scales... Minor scale or, if you're feeling a bit angrier, diminished scale. |
