I use my 5150/tubescreamer/boss noise suppressor and washburn idol with Duncan black winter set gives me a massive wall of metal goodness and I have well under a grand in that rig.

Yeah I know I could snag another module but the 3 I use are used always and the Marshall sound will be for a handfull of songs at most so I don't want to spend my $ on a module I won't use alot.

I think I've sanded down far enough I took it from 80/180/240/320/400/600 I don't see any shiney spots on the wood anymore which I took to be sealer. I plan on hitting it with some diluted black dye...

I have a fast track2 Dimarzio single coil sized humbucker in a cheap strat copy sounds pretty good not as beefy as a humbucker but still allows for some better hardrock/metal tones.

If you Google ac4 mods there are some cap changes that cleaned mine up at higher volumes had my amp tech do them for me took about twenty mins total worked very well if you wanna go that far.

I use sandpaper and work by hand its tedious but less room for errors. I go 80 to cut through the poly/paint then 240/320/400/600 and there nice and smooth.
