It's a practise amp, who cares if the tone is ****. I doubt that any of you guys have a "godly" tone with your "godly" tube amps. You can better waste 120 bucks on a ****ty tone than waste 800 bucks...

The pickups are more expensive than the guitar itself, but it sounds really hot, actually.

You cannot get a good tone out of an amp under 600 bucks, the MG does where he's good at, being a practise amp, and only 120 bucks as well.

Get a Marshall MG 15 watt thing, it's THE practise amp, I used it (and still do!) as practise amp.

And as far as guitars go, an Ibanez RG321.

It depends on what kind of tone you're after.

Saying that you like Slipknot doesn't mean that you want a copy-ish tone, and if you do, Actives are the way to go.
