Gar Samuelson is definitely one of my favorites. His drumming on the first two Megadeth albums is amazing.

I'm also a big fan of Tim "Herb" Alexander, even if I think his drum set is way too big...

I was just giving you shit :p: And yeah I've never seen anyone match Buddy's hand speed. He was amazingly technical, although there are definitely many drummers that play more musically then he did.

Not as atypical as you think. A lot of jazz drummers I know don't use crash cymbals at all and just use a left side and a right side ride (and a hi-hat of course). They usually ride on both of them...
