There's nothing special about gauges, use whatever you want. That said intonation can be changed, and you may also want to look up how to adjust the truss rod.

The only MTS module I know is the salvation mods Angel E, and it's like 300 bucks. I've seen RM50s and RM100s go for under $400 used. For some reason, the prices are incredibly varied on the RMs....

I was always find the best used deals on GC. If you live in a bigger city than I do, CL probably works more often. Ebay doesn't work a lot of times because of the high shipping costs.
