Yeah. I usually take them off totally, so I dont have to put the strings in behind them and put them back on as the final step when the guitar is back in tune. Make sure the allen key is all the way...

Is it the tone or volume dial you're tweaking at 0:18 to 0:21? Seems like it goes pretty much away when you turn that down. Not too strange if its the volume, but if its tone it could be a broken...
