Check the screws in the back holding the spring claw in place. It seems like maybe one of the screws slipped and let the claw loose on one side. That would account for the block shifting like that....

Completely normal. You can pull it flat the the top if you want a more solid bridge with a dive only trem setup. Floating it let's you get a better range of effect with the tremolo.
