Just bought one (I already have a Jackson RR1) and it's really awesome.

BC Rich Beast wears its name well also. For mainly rythm and thick, fat sound, the SOB is a great axe.

For the sustain, crucnch and brain-melting sound... get the right pedals.

Buy the lower priced SG and, from then on, add stuff you like such as pick-ups and humbuckers. Goes for around $350...
