Well yes most of the solos are challenging, but pretty much all of his tracks have fairly simple lead lines. They are great for learning phrasing even if you remove the solos entirely.

The 6505+ combo is very big and loud for a 112 but I found it to be acceptible for home use if you keep the volume down. If as you said it sounds exactly like what you want then I would go for it....
