The Jet City is a solid amp but like Remnest said you'd probably need a pedal to get a better metal tone. I'd suggest looking for a Peavey Valveking as well.

I will definitely invest in real contact cleaner as opposed to WD-40. Also, Cath: I have nothing against tubes, but I got the opportunity to trade up and the clean channel on this amp just sounded...
