Yeah agree will all of that. I was contemplating doing something big after the Interlude riff, but then it would start to become quite a long song and I wanted it to be a bit shorter and snappier....

Thanks for the comments.

edgespear: I feel like a rallentando (Google says this is a decelleration) or a fade out would be a lazy option. Both would work for sure, but I want to end on that chord so...

Actually just spent my Friday night finishing this off! Check out v9 in the original post.

I don't know how I feel about the ending - I could've gone to a fade-out but I just wanted to try something...

pawnlol: It's just that it's hard to make music unless you're dedicating your life to it really. And haha is it really that obvious I'm not a drummer? I'll definitely consider reaching out to you...

Fair enough, better off not even trying to replicate screams in GP.

I had a quick edit of those couple bars in the solo (attached). It's nothing fancy, pretty subtle but just something to add a...

'On the fence' - acoustic (w/ video)

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152654216803886&set=vb.513248885&type=3

Normally if I write something on acoustic, it's just to sound nice as a stand-alone acoustic piece, but I wanted to try...

Really liked the feel of the music throughout that. Felt a tad generic at times; felt like I'd heard it before e.g opening groove. Chorus 1A was one of my favourite sections. I think the post-chorus...

Aha I'm glad it didn't disappoint you. But yeah, glad you picked up on the darker sounds - something I wanted to experiment with.

I've told myself for the last 5 years I'd have recorded an album by...

Cheers for the crit mate.

Had a real Metallica feel to that for the first couple minutes. I thought the second half of the track was more interesting - that build-up with the synth before the solo...

Cheers guys. I'll definitely have a play around with the production.

Got a few questions specifically about this recording though...

- Does it work as an instrumental piece/should it have vocals?...

Cheers for the crit.

Had a listen to 'Have The Time'. You had some nice drum fills going on. I think the mix needed a little work i.e. the guitar solo track was too loud and I think the vocals...

Proggy core WIP (c4c)

Been a bit out of touch from music for quite a while now. Haven't found much inspiration for writing music, and haven't really had the time.

I started writing this thing until I broke a string and...

'Foreign' - short instrumental acoustic (c4c)

https://soundcloud.com/sebyumgoong/foreign

Testing out an old mic I found with an instrumental acoustic tune I wrote a few years ago. Playing is a little bit out of time at some points, and I...

Easy now! Been playing and writing for years, but the hardware side is something I've put off for way too long. Glad to hear it seems like a simple job to sort it out though.

Alright cheers.

I would go for thicker strings but I was wondering if I could avoid paying for a technician if only the bottom strings were a little thicker.

Question on changing to thicker strings

I've got a Gibson Les Paul Studio that was fitted with strings gauging from .010 - .046.

Seeing as I usually write/play in drop C, I wanted to go for thicker strings - I found a D'Addario set of...

Piano - classical/film score kinda thing (c4c)

http://soundcloud.com/sebyumgoong/piano

So I wanted to have a go at writing something classical-ish in Reason to play around with the sounds and all. It almost sounds like music for a film/anime, I...

It's obviously not finished, but I'm not sure where I'm...

Thanks man. I actually initially had the outro to the choral bit as 4 bars, but I thought it didn't give the song enough time to breathe so that's why I added the four bars. But if people think...

Another prog-post-hardcore ting (c4c)

It's been a while since I've written anything. Started writing this on the weekend. It's not done obviously, but I'm at a stage where I'd like some feedback on it so far.

It's always the transitions...
