i just started doing the exact same thing with my amps, but im using a radial aby switcher. it has 3 switches to help reduce hiss and noise. i get absolutely no extra noise using mine

plug it in and run line 6 monkey and reinstall the drivers. if it keeps doing it try reverting to an older driver and see if that fixes it. there may be some kind of little bug somewhere.

after all was said and done, i ended up getting a mint condition mesa lonestar 4x10 combo with footswitch and cover and brand new tubes for 800. new they are about 2000.
