Real Name: BJ Hough
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Favourite Bands: Indie: Social Scene of brokenness, the old photographers of pornography, fire in the Arcade... Prog: king crimson, yes, genesis, faust, can, van der graaf, TMV.... Harder: kayo dot, don cab, virgin black, agalloch, isis, neurosis.... Polka: no, nevermind, not a big fan.
A band we should listen to is: any band, just as long as it is able to reach down to the depths of your soul a pull out a feeling that so rarely been exerted during your short stint on this earth, that only you would ever be able to sustained such a large portion of ear pleasing bliss. For me, that band I have yet to find.
Most Inspirational Writer (Lyrically): Jon Anderson (yes), Cedric Bixler (TMV), Aaron turner (isis)
Favourite poet/poem (published writer): Robert Frost, Charles Bukowski, Edgar allen Poe, Philip dick
If you could be any writer ever, who would you be: Charlie Kaufman, cause he is a genius, and I have always wanted to be dropped off by the New Jersey Turnpike.
Why Do You Write: Cause it is from the gut. Things that I like to do are from the gut, and this happens to be one of them. I don't argue with it, but at times it seems something I almost HAVE to do to keep functioning, if that makes any sense.
Favourite technique/style: Arpeggios.....oh wait, you're talking about writing. Well, anyone who has ever read my stuff knows that I have never been strict on my technique. I would say it is free verse, but what structure i do establish, it always very loose.
Favourite Writer on UG: Jarred....he still keeps me in ahhh and always guessing on what he will write about next. Check his stuff out under pixesfanyo.....i not going to name drop cause I always leave someone out, but you guys know who you are.
Most Helpful Critter (thus known as critic): The best crit I got most recently was from haunted engine. It was extremely helpful and I don't think i was ever able to let him know that until now, so, thanks.
Your Most Recent Work and Reason behind It: A little piece called "Chuck, Take a Bow Please". Pretty technical piece for me, with a lot of repeating structure to give the effect of buildup. It's a pretty tense piece that has got decent response, and to me is the favorite piece of mine since I started back up writing in Sept.
Tips for Newer Writers: As Bukowski once said, "unless it comes out of
your soul like a rocket, unless being still would drive you to madness or suicide or murder, don't do it. unless the sun inside you is burning your gut, don't do it." I have tried not 'doing it' before, but it didn't work.
Any Final Comments or Thoughts: I love this community and the people in it and I would really just like to thank the people who keep it running, in particular Steve. We should all appreciate what he does, the time he takes so that we are able to share our writing with each other in an enjoyable way. So once again, thanks Steve, and the other mods.
recent example of work: Chuck
Filth, pure filth... That's what you are.

Location: Who has never killed an hour? Not casually or without thought, but carefully: a premeditated murder of minutes. The violence comes from a combination of giving up, not caring, and a resignation that getting past it is all you can hope to accomplish.
I have won it before guys, but thanks a lot for the praise....means a lot.
