Yes I know what you mean by the tone. The earlier albums drums were drenched in reverb. BWP D1 and D2's drums were the best tone wise. GR's drums were good skill wise.. but tone wise they were way overprocessed. WS's really reminds me of BWP's the most.

Out of GR, the only drum "lick" that stood out was the funk/jazz beginning of Beneath the Mire.

I love playing that stupid simple beat, heh.

Yeah haha.. im not a drummer myself but I can tell it's a fun thing to do.

I think the drumming is probably the strongest thing on the album. The guitar parts are very awkward because of the Dm tuning and all. On Harlequin Forest I pretty much concentrate on the drumming when the song starts to drag. Good thing they had Lopez.

Yeah, well I'm a part-time drummer, so I can't do much better than Deliverance.

Though, speaking of that song, the kick-snare-kick-kick-stop pattern is fvcking brilliant.

Dm tuning is not fun to play, for me, the only Open tuning I like is Open E.

Yes, the drums are so interesting.. it really helps make the song flow.
Ugh but that tuning.. so bad. Idk wut Mike was thinking. I really like to play in just standard.. occasionally I'll drop to D or maybe to DADGAD to do some slap acoustic.

Most of my stuff is in Standard or 7 string standard. I find it heavy enough, and it's high enough to be very melodic.

i heard MAYH today and it was ****ing amazing, then i heard SL and it was ****ing amazing. i think i may have a new entry into my list of favorite bands. This stuff is awesome, good for paying attention and focusing on and also good for writing/ thinking and stuff. and Lotus Eater is one of the best songs of all time.

it's all good, that's just my favorite track. Heir Apparent and Hessian Peel in second and third, respectivly.

Just switch Burden in for Hessian Peel and you have my favorites off of Watershed.

Evil riffs, with great singing to compliment it? Slightly underrated?

Then yes. Yes, I do.

It's also similar to White Cluster in this aspect.

Its probably my favorite closer since Blackwater Park. The way the organ just rings and than just stops at the end is so epic.

Hmm.. yes it could also be related to WC too. Another underrated track. But my 2nd favorite of SL.

Serenity Painted Death and White Cluster are the best tracks on SL, imo.

The funeral-ish sounding ending chord is great.

You mean the ending of WC right?

If you do than yeah. I just picture the character from the story hanging after all the people have left him.
