So I got it back yesterday and it sounds great. The pickups give a nice Tele tone and even handle gain ok. The push pull works great and the guitar sounds good over all and my amp isn't that good. My pickguard got warped while in a hot car and my dad got it back to the right shape but now only three holes match up so I need a new one. I'll get pics up today hopefully.

Oh, and I never knew what the springs were for with Tele pickups. Anyone want to explain? I'm also having trouble with my pickup height. When I lower them only the front goes down while the back stays up and makes my high e mess up. halp?

Well I'm having trouble with keeping my neck pup low enough. It keeps coming up where I can play the higher frets of my high e.

EDIT: I have clips on my profile. I'm a pretty shitty player so I didn't sound too great and just used my own licks since I suck at learning songs.. I went through all the positions and coil tapped. My high e is fretting out on the neck pup so I did that a couple times to let people hear it then played the high 3 open so that sound would be heard. It sounds like it's being muted but I can't find where or how.

Finished

Here are my specs more or less

Alder body
Stewmac maple neck
GFS 5 screw bridge
Sperzel locking tuners
GFS Lil' Puncher Modern Vintage rails
Push/pull on volume
All other hardware is from Stewmac

Still haven't fixed the e string or pickup height problems. My step dad is getting a file for making the pickguard fit a little better. Clips are on my profile with the pickup height problem and the open e buzzing strangely.

It looks really good. How are the pups? Do you like the neck?

I'm not really a fan of Tele's, but man, I would be proud to play that one.

Really nice artwork. Gives me a few ideas of my own.

I really like this guitar. Most builds/projects on here look good, but this one is right up my alley, great job! I love modded telecasters, one day I'm going to build one along the lines of the Jim Root signature.

On a side note, how do you like that neck? How was the fit/finish and the frets?

I'm not sure what size the frets are but they're big enough. Otherwise I love it. That really smooth finish with no clear coat, nice thickness. It's a bit narrow though, I can't do side to side vibrato on the high E.

Thanks for all the compliments!. My girlfriend loves to hear good things about her artwork. I posted some string problems above if anyone could help with those

and for 50 bucks the pickups sound great. little bit of Tele sound but humbucker tone as well.

I really need some help with my high E string. It's either the bridge or the nut and I'm thinking it's the nut. When I play the high E open it sounds weak and muted, it doesn't ring out at all. On the first fret it sounds perfectly fine. Would that mean the nut slot is too big or small? I'm playing on 10's in E standard

Ok, I'm going to replace the nut as soon as I can and I've been thinking about asking for some Graphtech saddles for Christmas. I'm also going to be applying more clear coat tomorrow since it's so thin.

I'm thinking about adding something to the headstock. Maybe swirls like the body with my name.

Check your nut and saddles. Also give it a good setup, I can tell just by the saddle positions that its intonation is waaay off.

Seriously. Saw it on the first page and was like "WTF". I'm still messing with it. I just got a new nut and all that. And yes, I misquoted To Live Is To Die by accident.

Might as well just let this die now.

You necro-bumped this thread to ask THAT?

You obviously didn't read anything because he clearly stated that his girlfriend used pen to draw it on.
