Problem with slow parts

I really good at fast playing (I became a shredder at least) but recently I screw up the slow parts rhythmically. Especially quater and half notes under 130 bpm. Should I play a lot with methronome and slow settings?

you are probably also off tempo on high speed parts, you just play fast to mask it.
