Combo to head conversion
I have a line 6 flextone 3 unit (combo no speaker) I can run this through a cab using the headphone out but i don't know whether I'm compromising volume or wattage as it doesn't get very loud, I tried to wire a mono 4 pin jack to the connecting speaker wire but I get no sound from the cab when this is plugged in, could anyone give me any advice on how to wire the jack correctly, I have two speaker cables and a mono 4 pin jack out

You have to run it into a cabinet through the speaker out, not the headphone out.

There isnt a speaker out, it's an early model I attached a mono 1/4 jack with 4 pins to the speaker cable but I'm not getting any sound from it

something doesnt sound right here. there should always be a speaker out. also, "mono" and "4 pins" don't quite go together.
maybe you could give a little more information. some pictures would be very helpful.

I cant post any pics at the minute but this is the jack I got
http://mobile.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=1298 Which I soldered to the speaker cable There is a speaker cable which was attached to the speaker when it was a combo but there was no extra out for a cabinet, for some reason the cab works through the headphone socket (which even I was surprised at) but I wanted to turn the old speaker cable into a work extension can socket Last edited by harris.tom85 : 06-12-2012 at 03:52 PM. |
