If this is your first build, you did an amazing job (as far as I can tell, I've never built one myself - yet)!
If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you approximately to acquire all the tools needed to get started? I've been looking in to guitar building (for fun, of course) for a while now.

Is the guitar gig-worthy? Have you tested the guitar for any flaws you need to work out with? Otherwise, great job!

Alot You can do basically the whole thing with a router, a bit or two and hand tools, but that will take you forever, be ALOT of physical hard work and likely won't turn out as nice as if you had some nice powertools. Some mandatory ones (IMO) are a drill press, bandsaw, router and a thickness planer. Sanders are excellent things to have as well. There's alot more you'll need, but I'd be here for days thinking of everything to type out. To be honest, in materials and tools, I'm probably close to $3k into it. Then again, you really don't need all of the tools I have to make a decent guitar, I just bought more stuff as the build went on because I knew I was going to be doing alot more than one build.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me man.
Also, check out this book. It's basically the guitar building bible.

I'd imagine so. I don't see anything about it being weaker than any production guitar. I'd definitely use it live. If I had a band
And it being my first build, there was definitely some flaws to work out. This has been done for about 2 weeks now, but I've just been putting the final touches and fixing a few things up and I now have it where believe it is completely finished.

At the same time, this was my first time slotting a nut and I don't have nut files, just a needle file set. However I don't see or feel it being closer to the edge than the other side. This is bugging me now I'll have to get the calipers out tomorrow.

If the string on one side of the neck are closer to the edge than the other, it likely just needs a neck adjustment. I had the same issue on an Ibanez that I ordered from eBay. All I had to do was loosen the neck screws a tiny bit and push down on the neck towards the headstock(while sitting in the playing position). The tricky part was holding it in the correct place while I tightened up the neck screws.

I can see that being possible, cause the pocket is alot taller on the one side, but it doesn't look off in person and it doesn't feel like it at all.

Thanks dudes!

Beautiful build my friend... excellent work. I love a nice natural finish. Nothing better in my opinion!

That is one sweet guitar! I've built a bass, a guitar, and I'm finishing another, but none of them look as good as that (then again, the only powertools I use are a drill and a jigsaw... everything else is by hand)
