C4C: Tunguska - Thrash/Death Metal with a retro feel

Tunguska

This is a song I wrote for my thrash metal band, Insurgency. In both composition and production I was going for a 90s thrash/death feel, and I reckon I got fairly close. I feel that the mix could still be a lot better though, so I'd appreciate any feedback on that especially. As always I'm very happy to comment on any track you guys have done in return!

I used Reaper as my project DAW, and mixed entirely in the box. Drums were programmed with the aid of FL Studio 5.

Cheers, hope you enjoy the track!

Powerful intro, guitars sound good. Vocals are good when they come in. Good riffs, like you'd expect from a thrash song, I like the slower one at ~2:24 particularly. I think the mix is pretty decent, maybe the drums could be a little punchier... but they're certainly not bad by any stretch. Lead guitar could perhaps be blended better with the rest of the mix, although the solo itself was pretty decent. Overall it's a cool song, I certainly enjoyed listening to it.

EDIT: The song Immaculate Conception came on after and I like that one even more

Daemos,
Before the vocals started, it reminded me of Ozzy Osbourne (this is a compliment). The vocals fit the style of music, though I like it instrumentally better. Playing is tight! Some fancy electric bass playing at times (good). Wild stuff man! Please review my music at this link:

Pretty good man, really liking it!
Before the vocals came in i thought it sounded like something from early Megadeth, either from KIMB...ABIG or So Far So Good So What, when the vocals kicked in and it all picked up, kind of reminded me of Death and a bit of Venom!

Keep it up man, you've got some awesome sounding stuff

It's quite good.

I like the changes, some areas could be tighter, and the drums sound quite good although I could tell that they were produced.

The bass work was pretty sweet. In some areas it just sounded awesome.

I was taken by surprise with the sound quality, sounds great. I really love that bass tone, it sounds killer how it cuts through the mix. Unique vocal style, I like it. I feel like they could be a teeny bit quieter though.

That part at ~2:20 is ****ing killer! I love that riff and how much influence the bass has. Once again, awesome bass tone.

I would listen to more. Get a full band together, this is great work.
