Has anyone read, "A Scanner Darkly?" I've heard people talk about it frequently, and it's on sale today for a couple dollars. I'm wondering if it's worth the couple bucks?

For a "couple bucks," why not?

The money isn't the issue really, the time dedication is. I barely have time to read as it is and I'm already 12 books behind my buying spree. I think I'm going to go ahead and buy it and see what happens.

zackk, i really enjoyed the film. I assume the book is better and worth your time.

Cor-dawg, nah, kind of just my spoken word voice/accent. I did play with the rhythm in a couple places though, definitely. Thanks for watching man!

It's been a strange week. On Thursday morning I took 4 pictures with my phone of the pages a classmate needed to complete an assignment because she hadn't yet gotten the book. I sent these in an email to her at 10:30 am. The next day I was notified by my professor that she had been in an accident on 195 on her way to class at 7:30 am. She was the sole fatality. By the time I had sent those emails, she was already dead. Her name was Shontell, and she had skin the tone of R&B. She would speak her song to anyone. I went to a cafe to read and drink some coffee, which is one of my favorite things to do. An old woman collapsed and was taken away in an ambulance. I haven't heard what became of her. All I can say now is I'm studying twice as hard and I will earn the A that I know Shontell would have gotten.

This.

I love rotoscoped films. Another film of Linklater's, called Waking Life, is definitely worth a watch.

For the first time, I decided to experiment with producing my own songs, despite my shitty microphone, so I started with something simple (except those high notes on the vocals). If someone's interested it's "One For The Breathing In My Ear Tonight" on my profile

New company I work for:

www.redstylo.com

Buy our stuff, share it around. I promise you guys, The Poe Anthology is really fucking great. I really, truly deeply, recommend it.

Here's the actual printed one: Poe Printed It's 19.99

and the digital one is here. It's 9.99 and it seriously is great. Trust me.

You can also check out individual comics too for 1.99 which in all honesty for the quality is fantastic.

We also have a Shakespeare one too, it's 29.99 but it's twice the size. Pretty solid as well.

I got a puppy (well... a dog, but all dogs are referred to as puppies in my brain). My band has studio time setup. My research is going well.

I'm due for a soul crushing defeat soon.

Dear god there's still people here I recognize.

Well since I've been gone it's been vodka, and making techno music. Went to berklee school of music, don't write much anymore, and if I do it's cheesy trance lyrics I probably wouldn't bother sharing here. And I'd suck at returning critiques I haven't given or written in so long, and I don't have the time. Also had same girlfriend for two years, so I don't have as much drive to write when I'm fairly happy.

edit: my gf got a few poems published, (they're not far above the generic angsty teen stuff, but she got a certificate of publication.)

Really, the Pit is not that far of a walk from SnL.

And practice makes somewhat perfect, kat.

Well yes that's mostly where I've been posting, but this and musician talk used to be the only two forums I'd visit.
