I worked for 3 weeks in a 3 AM to noon shift at my last job.

Basically, the first few days (up to a week) are hell. Once you adjust the sleep schedule, you will function fine and act like its no big deal.

but the amount of coffee I drank in that first 3 days on that shift...I'm pretty sure I personally raised a country's export profits from coffee alone. Was going through like 3 pots a shift by myself in those first few days.
