Changing gauge, adjusting truss rod
I'm going to go from 11-49 (EXL115) to 11-52 (EXL116), with the same tuning.
You guys think I'll need to do truss rod adjustments? I've never had to adjust it.

What guitar are you using? If it's stoptail you'll probably be fine, if it has a trem there will be minor adjustments to make.

Then you'll need to make a slight adjustment of the spring tension of the trem. As for the truss rod, you'll need to change the strings first to see whether it increases the bow of the neck a noticeable amount. If it does, tighten the truss rod slightly. It's really that simple.

Yeah I know how to deal with a trem, done it before, but thanks.
I've already changed gauges in the past (42-46-49), but it' always good to be cautious.

just put the strings and tune your guitar . as you're tuning , if you realize the bridge is bending away from the its cavity (or the guitar ) , then this means that you should tighten your springs until the bridge is flat/parallel the guitar body . If the opposite is happening , that is , if your bridge has sunken in the cavity , this means that the springs are too tight and you should loosen the springs until the bridge is flat . but in my opinion, what is going to happen is that your bridge is gonna bend away from the cavity , because a thicker string gauge will have more tension for a same tuning. and if your bridge is flat ( parallel to the guitar body or neck ) then perfect .

Again, I know how to tune a floyd rose bridge. I was asking about the ttuss rod.
