Update to 'guitar storage'

Yeah actually i told you folks in an earlier post that my guitar(my wife's gift) would be stored in its case at my sister's house on canada's east coast, for approx. 6 months. i am presently living in ontario and won't get back to newfoundland until june 2013.my question to you is -should it be taken out of its original packaging from the dealer or just leave it fully packaged?btw it is left in a house where humidity is controlled.

Are you talking about a Guitar case? IF so then I would leave it in the case the whole time and put some kind of humidity control in the case with it....and if possible have someone refill the humidifier in the case once every month or two if possible. I would also loosen the string to releive any tension while stored.

Cheers
