Hey! I joined to actually do some research and read current forums since I'm in an engineering class in high school looking to make a patent-able guitar/amp product! Also, I love almost all music and am obsessed with classical guitar

Hi, my name is Lee. I'm from the UK. Been playing guitars for over 40 years...and still learning. Played with a few bands in the past...locally semi pro. Don't play serious these days...rhythm gone since operation on my right wrist.
Still have a lovely 30+ years old semi-acoustic guitar, Ibanez AE300 with a lovely rich tone played without the amp. Also have a Gibson 'Firebrand' solid body, humbucker pickups, in mahogany. Plays well, good action. I'm 61yrs old, married to a lovely lady. Kids flown the nest..thank God!! .I'm semi retired from work. |

Not that new. Post quite a bit but I have a question and I dunno where to put it!
When I send a PM, if I click on a persons name on the forum and it goes to their profile and then I pm them from there does it appear in the PM box in the forum? I ask because the sent messages aren't there and it's confusing me. Thanks!

hey guys I'm a new member and I'm looking for some advice
idk what the routine here is but here's some background: I grew up playing piano until 6th grade, then in middle school I switched to the saxophone and joined the school band but to be honest I just did not connect with the people in there and ended my playing after a year. fast forward to now, and I'm 21 and realizing how bad i miss music, and went out and bought a guitar. So based on my history I understand basic music theory and can read music. Where would you guys start? I want to learn without having to pay for lessons, which I know is possible via the internet. So basically which resources do you guys recommend? are they the ones found here on this site? Thanks a lot for any guidance you guys can give. -Scott |

Hi all , my name is Martin and I am from Argentina. I have been playing guitar for a couple of months and have joined the site to learn more about the instruments.
My main interests in music are jazz , bossa nova and prog rock. I would really like to play jazz standards in a decent fashion but I know it's a tough ordeal so it's a long way to go I suppose. |
