I have come to the conclusion that on days where it is very dark and overcast, and it's lightly raining, the only logical thing to do is to put Soundgarden on your ipod and go for a walk.

No, I'll have to check them out especially after this Grohl/Cobain mixed vocal description

They're instrumental for the most part (at least the album I'm listening to) so he only does lead vocals on a couple (Josh Homme on the others for this one) but here's a good vocal example. |

Not sure about the Kurt/Dave comparisons because Matt only does 'clean' vocals, but I really enjoy that band. Cool alt-rock shit. Right of Left Field is amazing! |

I'm awful about checking out side projects. I still haven't listened to Brad either

I've only heard a couple of Brad songs, but they didn't tickle my fancy too much. Haven't heard Stone's solo stuff. Haven't heard any Three Fish stuff. Apart from those I think I've managed to keep up pretty well.
Edit: Whoops, I thought this was the PJ thread.

This guy just got tickets to the January 22nd show in Manhattan
. Me and the girlfriend are seeing them for the second time now. I absolutely can not wait to hear Rowing live in person.^ And it might as well be the PJ thread. I'd go so far as to say everyone posting here likes them too

****kkk you, so jealous, that's a day after my birthday. I wish I was able to just go on 8 hour drives to concerts. Actually, now that I think of it they've been 8 hours away at every one of these tours, it's like they're purposefully taunting me. I'm not sure they've ever even played in Ohio. Really though, I'm sure it will be awesome, enjoy it for me.
![]() I actually could never get really into PJ. I've heard a lot of their stuff and liked it but I guess I never took the time to really focus on them like I should. |

If you would have told me in 2006 that I would eventually see them live twice, let alone hear a new album, I would have slapped the shit out of you for building up such fantastic dreams I will never experience. I suppose I shouldn't REALLY feel as lucky as I do to see them, but Soundgarden is really the reason I got into playing music. Superunknown is still as mindblowing as it was when I heard it 6 years ago.
And even though it's more or less off topic, here are some personal favorite PJ songs show

This one I think gives off an almost "Applebite" vibe. It's more... I guess sort of a weird atmospheric sort of piece than an actually songy song if that makes sense show

So "By Crooked Steps" is going to be the next single/video. Dave Grohl is directing it

Woah, can't wait to see what comes out of that. With Sound City too I wonder if Dave will become a regular director for stuff now.

Only four days separate me from my second Soundgarden concert. I'm going to lose my shit if they play Fresh Tendrils

I can die happy then
Also, is there any news on who the opening act is? I've been looking but found nothing.
