You're good at marketing. This reminds me of Anubi in some ways. It's definitely interesting but not really my thing. Perhaps it will click? I wish there were some more straight forward tracks like Encante.

That's bizarre and confuses me. Quote:
Yeah I foresee it going this way with a lot of people. However, for me, there is something going on in there Something is happening inside this album

I kinda figured you'd say something along those lines. Weren't you the one that first posted them (Anubi) here? I just feel they both create similar atmospheres, for me anyways. They both succeed in conjuring up very dark imagery, much more so than your typical, more orthodox metal band. Both are very horrific, claustrophobic listens. I also get this distinct ethereal vibe from them that I only find in a handful of bands and an eerie shroud of mystery. But maybe I'm just talking out of my ass. They obviously are very different musically though equally eccentric. |

It's like having a dream that is not yours but instead belongs to some ancient Homosapien ancestor currently on a psychedelically induced spirit quest.

Just have to bump this and say that it is amazing. I do not think you have ever disappointed me with one of your recommendations VG.

Obscure, esoteric, and mind numbing in the beautiful sense.

For some reason I could only get this to play on VLC, but anyways...
Very grainy and dark, though dynamic and animated at the same time. Barren and obscured nightscapes. This doesn't sound unpleasant or "scary" to me, instead, it invokes a sense of curiosity and being lost, like fulfilling some attraction to strange and unusual things. The closest thing I could compare it to would be watching old Chinese and Japanese films as a child about ghosts, afterlife, hell. I hear supernatural animations, stumbling upon strange creatures and rituals, trying to find your way home while tempted to stay and watch the show... I am about halfway through and will be going out before I have the chance to finish, but this is a very well crafted vision come to life. I can't say I've ever listened to anything like this before, but it does genuinely trigger some sort of primal fascination in me. VG, where/ how did you come across this project? And what do you guys think about the album artwork? ![]() |

I love that album cover. It reminds me of Goya's The Sleep of Reason, but with a tribal, alien life form invading the body instead.
I imagine amoebas combining and splitting, Higgs Bosons, atavism, evolution, decay, a bog filled with life, but we're looking at the prokaryotic strife through a petridish. I picture the monolith from 2001, the birth of the cosmic man, and the aural lights. This is true avant-garde combined with the tribal zealotry of a foreign tribe, and the ritualistic invocation of something ghastly, moribund, and ancient. I really, really like this album. How is their other work?

Going to give this a listen a bit later today, just from reading the comments so far it already sounds like an experience...

Listened to a bit of this pretty late into the night, and I shut it off feeling the need to shed the darkness. I will listen to it further some other time, but I am fairly reluctant to continue. It all seems very unnatural, the dark provoking you, whilst flowing, yet colourful, horror surrounds the listener. Really bizarre. I would listen to it late at night, whenever you've got the chance. It decreases chances of being disrupted so you can really take this album in. The darkness is a must, since this album seems to feed off of it.

I'm drawn in from the first sounds... They certainly create an intense environment with their music, though the ambient nature of the sound makes the atmosphere less claustrophobic than if they used a more extreme approach. I'm in a somewhat distracted state of mind, and still getting my first impressions from the album, but even now the impact is noticeable...

Was any of the songs on this album featured in any movies? I was watching Dragon Eyes(2012) and I kept hearing music that sounded so much like Megafauna. I've searched extensively to find out whether there is a connection with this movie and the album but I can't find anything. I guess maybe I am just hearing things... either way... some interesting music on the movie.

There is a very cinematic quality in this album. It reminds me of watching VHS tapes of dark stop-motion stuff as a kid, staying up late to watch some serious strange shit. The tone and "texture" of these recordings are really something else.

Texture is pretty much spot on as far as this album goes, the term actually fits quite aptly despite it being used and abused in the world of music. The sounds on this album have some serious physical presence. Next time you guys give this a spin I want you to consciously listen for all the "directions" this album comes at you from. And I mean literal directions, surround sound is a must. This organic mix of directions really places you in the center of what ever ritualistic dream world this album captures. Some very exciting stuff here. Truly exciting and memorable. Also HAIL & WORSHIP TREEMAN! 1:29 onward is such an absolute wonder and delight. baaa WAAAa boooo BAAAA baaa WAAAAA boooo WAAAAA baaaaa woooooo
