Definitely have elements of shoegaze, especially "Rubber". Love them!

The Stargazer Lillies are offering the 5 tracks they've previously released for free, but this time at a better bit rate.
If the music on display here is anything to come by, the forthcoming album should go down as a classic of the genre.

I know that's a lot of expectation to pin on an album, but I actually feel confidant in suggesting it.

I'm enjoying Alcian Blue and Anne a decent bit.

Seeing Planning For Burial at the end of the month, that will be brilliant, Thom is an incredibly talented dude. Re-pressing of Deathconsciousness came in the post recently, always good to hear that for the billionth time.
Swans definitely have some shoegaze-y moments, I mean they have moments for like everything, but particularly on Soundtracks For The Blind, that had some definite shoegaze moments.

Lush is my all-time shoegaze band. I miss them.

Not sure why it's taken me this long to get LSD And The Search For God. Awesome stuff.

Speaking of them, they confirmed on facebook that they are still working on a full length album. And said "no specific date yet, but we'll keep you posted. major things are happening in our camp."
This has me quite excited.

So..I feel like I've not really kept up with new releases this year. Other than the Ceremony re-release, A Place To Bury Stranger's Worship, Tamaryn's Tender New Signs and an EP's worth of Stargazer Lilies tracks. What have I missed?

I got Slowdive's Just for A Day on CD the other day, with a bonus disk with the Slowdive, Morningrise and Holding Our Breath EP's and a 3 song live session. I've barely stopped listening to them this week. But it furthers my opinion/bewilderment I mentioned on the last page. I really don't understand why Souvlaki is considered the bands Magnum Opus, a few tracks aside it's just a bit dull really.

Agreed. The first 3 tracks and when the sun hits are amazing, the rest is a bit meh. I've not given just for a day enough listens really but their EP's are so good.

Can't forget Dagger. Possibly my favourite from Souvlaki.

I found a cassette copy of Just For A Day in a charity shop for 50p, well chuffed. I've been meaning to pick up more shoegaze cassettes, the format definetly suits and I'm too skint to be picking up any more overpriced first-pressings on vinyl.

I was talking to a tutor at uni when doing my Viva and he was saying how he was sort of a part of the movement back in the early 90's, and how it was almost like a badge of honour having really bad equipment to listen to it through. So I imagine Cassette would be quite in keeping with that aesthetic.

I picked up Slowdive - Pygmalion & Catherine Wheel - Ferment when in Edinburgh this weekend, a rare example of HMV coming up trumps.

There's a new Bio been written for The Stargazer Lilies, which ends with
"Watch for their debut album on Graveface Records this coming spring"

I can't wait for this album. The tracks they have recorded so far have been fantastic.

Good lad you (hoepfully) won't regret it. I had it on an hour or so ago actually.

DO you know if it's the standard album or the bonus disk with the EP's

I think it's just the standard but I guess we'll see in a few days time. I do need to get hold of those EP's though

If it doesn't come with them, and you can't find them to buy, just send me a message and I'll sort you out with them digitally if you like.
