![]() My '84 Camaro was custom ordered with an 8-track player instead of a cassette player. Only one I ever saw like that, I had a small collection of 8 tracks just to jam in that ride ![]() It was fun to watch friends try to rewind them ![]() ![]()

I mean, there's plenty of worse things to get jammed in there
. If I had to pick one album to be played nonstop, Dark Side would be in consideration. I hope that decision never has to come though ![]() You guys should check out this little amp this guy has, I can't figure it out. Pretty positive it's not a guitar amp but the guy's set on the idea it is. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru....php?p=30989742

Dammit. My paint pen got all ****ed up.
![]() ![]() ![]() Decided to get rid of some of the stuff I've got lying around, so I built a Timmy-ish pedal. Slightly less gain, a bit more bass at the lower end of the bass control and a bit more high end at max treble. Anyone wants, $80 plus shipping due to shit wiring on the board. |

PCB mounted stuffs is real handy.
It's nice not working but I think it may be affecting my mental stability. It's nice to internet though. I'm supposed to be learning more chords, picking patterns, and the big one, learning how to slide barre chords like a trill. Instead, I am just kinda walking around the place, talking gibberish to whomever happens to be lucky enough to come hang out with this gimp-armed mother ****er. Gotta complete my tax return stuff. There should be an amp in there for me. >.> |

I love that "designing tube preamps for guitar and bass" from Merlin Blencowe.
Easy read and makes sense to my little mind... I am tempted to throw the PCB out on one of my BVs and make a proper amp out of it using the same PT and OT. I would probably make completely new preamp and use the same power amp set-up just without PCB. The current PT set-up has 458V past the second filter. Room to work with... I would probably make a clone of a better amps preamp.

Definitely a fantastic pooping accessory. Quote:
Should be getting around 480V on the plates, IIRC. Though 458 is more than enough for using EL34s or 6L6s, and probably preferable for modern production tubes. I think you've got 4 preamp tubes and the PI to work with, right? Lots of things you could do, though I'm gonna cut another preamp tube hole in my chassis so I can have 6. Two triodes for the clean channel, two for the loop, 5 for the dirty channel, maybe 6 if I decide to add an active tone stack. |

It's 6L6. It has 3 preamp and 1 PI. I would hopefully be able to add another tube without hurting the PT.

Boo. Yea, you could probably add another preamp tube, but probably not two. You'd have to get clever if you want clean and modern high gain.

Shit.... I guess no tube driven fx loop then. ![]() Wait.... I think I remember the 5150 having six gain stages. How many gain stages in an SLO or 'modern high' gain amp these days? I'll have to hunt through some schematics and find a good preamp to copy.

No, keep the FX loop. Just get clever with your switching scheme. Use a triode or two in both the clean and dirty channels.
