I've just gone Muse mad, listening to songs and playing them. There great if only I'd come across them sooner.

I do believe that Muse is a good band, but i am a bass player, i am 14, and i dont believe their bass riffs give me enough of a challenge, i love listening to them, but they just arent enough :P

Go play a proper, more challenging instrument.

LOL!

Have you played through most of their discography? I don0t play bass, but my bass player says that they have some tunes that have some more challenging parts. Of course, it might depend on your level of playing.

I really hope they read the comments and get the gist that ain't nobody got time for that.

I remember when I saw this. I'm glad i've pretty much given up on Muse. I've come to not expect great things from them anymore, that way there is no disappointment, and only pleasant surprise when they do something above average

Sunburn a bit after that.

Pretty good gig, I thought.

I've never seen it. House is my favourite TV series, though.

EDIT: ALTHOUGH I HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST SEASON. NO SPOILERS, THANKS!

Not exactly tech or death though... The rhythms on Muse's chord work is usually quite basic, although the chords can be more unusual.

They need to tour with Porcupine Tree so that everyone is like "Oh, my that supporting band is better than Muse" and then Porcupine Tree will be doing pretty well... Matt will decide it is time to revert to the ultra-brootz metal and all will be as it should.

Only problem with this is PT being on hiatus atm... but I'm sure Stevo can shrug off his solo work for a bit, no?

I dunno, seems like Steven Wilson has his head so far up 70s prog's collective rear end that he's forgotten all about PT

^ I for one don't mind, as his solo work has been consistently great so far. I'm sure PT will get back together before too long though.

Most of Muse's bass parts are pretty straightforward. The only ones I'd have issues with are the ones where it's straight sixteenth notes for most of the song, since I don't have very good endurance.

Muse is pretty basic bass wise.

They have some really fun songs though. The bass usually isn't boring
