Single conductor?

Ok, so I'm putting some new pickups in my soloist, which I have done many times before, but I've run into a new problem. I've almost always used the jb/jazz set which are both four conductor configurations. This time, I've decided on the JB/'59, but the '59 is a single conductor pickup. I'm replacing a four conductor pickup, so do I just wire the single conductor from the '59 to the spot where the hot (red) wire was on the old pickup? This would be position 3 on the switch. Does that seem correct? Anyone have any experience with single conductor wiring?

Yes, basically, you just wire up the pickup like you would the 4 conductor pickup,
just you won't have to wire up as many wires. The positioning of the wires will be the same for the '59 as the same colored wires of the Jazz.
