Michael Amott in Australia
Now, i'm not sure where to put this so i thought the pit would do.
Michael Amott, lead guitarist from the Melodic Death Metal band Arch Enemy, is coming to Australia and will be visiting various Billy Hyde Music stores around the country. if you need any info just go to http://www.billyhydemusic.com.au/im...nemy-poster.jpg I would be going to the Blackburn store as it is the closest at about 45 minutes from home. I was just curious to see how many people were actually going to attend and whether it would be worth me trying to convince my parents of getting me out of school to see this legendary guitarist with my mates. If it helps, my parents have never heard of Arch Enemy or Michael Amott, this is because i really dont think that they will like them. Also, any tips on convincing them would also help VERY much.

Tell them it will be a educational trip that will expand your musical horizons.
Then find the most pussy song of Arch Enemy's (something they won't find to be too... heavy?) and play that to them. Or play them a song from a different band altogether.

I'm a 5 minute walk from the Adelaide store, but considering I gave up on metal 15 odd years ago, I'd rather not waste my lunch break on this disgruntled and pasty looking individual. But more power to you mate, I remember lining up for hours to go see Anthrax and Megadeth back in the early 90's, much to the chagrin of the folks. So tell your parents the truth, if they say no, then beg, if they still say no, then ditch. Problem solved.

If they are against the death grunt, play Enter The Machine from Doomsday Machine. It is completely instrumental and, depending on your parents, it will appeal to them more.
