^You could just use a mic I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to acoustic pups though. I do know most have an active circuit (or at least modern acoustics), they act more or less like a microphone anyways.

Question on scale length: If I swap necks from two guitars with the same scale length, it would work fine right? Even if one neck has more frets than the other?

The difference in the neck joint would be the issue if it's not the same body style. String spacing varies too. I thought a neck swap on the Strat I was redoing a few years ago was gonna be easy but there's a few extra numbers you gotta make sure match up.

Strats and teles have the same scale length and they aren't interchangeable. The neck pocket is a different shape.
