DiMarzio Humbuckers for my Strat?
Okay long story short, I picked up a 2012 American Standard and I love it. However I've also been falling in love with Charvel So Cals lately. So my plan is to basically take the Fat 50s "strat", but thats for a later thread.
I'll custom order a pick guard with two humbucker spaces, 1 volume and 1 tone and a swtich, I'll maybe put a kill switch in it. Anyway, I've grown to liking DiMarzio pick ups and want to pick up a set. What set would be best suited to my needs? I've heard good things about Liquid fire/ Crunch Lab set & Evolutions I play in a punk band (Its also pretty funky too though) but the tone I'm chasing ranges from Alex Lifeson (Rush, fly by night, caress of steel, 2112, but also later stuff like moving pictures) and I'd like to be able to get some smooth David Gilmour like tones out of the neck pick up too. But on the other end of the spectrum I also want a good metal tone, tight bottom end, and searing lead tones out of the bride. I'm looking for something really articulate, and that can hit harmonics real well too. Thanks in advance

Super Distortion in the bridge and a PAF in the neck would be great for punk.
But i also second a tone zone.

Tone Zone thirded. I have the Billy Corgan pickup and it is tonally quite close to the Tone Zone from what I gather, and would work well for your needs.

Okay thanks guys I'll look into the Tone Zone. And yes, it is routed for humbuckers.

I have some super distortions in a couple of other guitars and I find the tonezone is a bit fatter and clearer than the super....both great classic pick ups though |

I agree with you there. The tonezone is a great pickup.
