The objectively thinnest guitar necks are old 60's Mosrites. Their neck profile was what is now called a "D" shape, with long "shoulders," and the width was around 1 3/8"s at the nut and did not taper as it got to the heel. I got to play a vintage one at my local Guitar Center today, and it made the Ibanezs feel like Les Pauls.

Whenever I hear someone say that they play exclusively a single genre, I always assume that they're just a terrible guitarist.

I know this is me being a fanboy, but try a Hagstrom.
The Super Swede is great for shred, and tons of other stuff too.
