Frozen Tears (Ballad) C4C
Hey guys
I finished up a demo I was going to release through an exclusive code for a local newspaper because I have an upcoming interview with them and I was just wondering what you guys think of the demo before I pull the trigger on it https://soundcloud.com/jc123/frozen...13-demo/s-ipgn7 I'm not the band's main singer so it depends on the reaction to the song itself as well as the vocals if im going to release it in this format.

Dear Celitus
I think it is a good song and an ambitious production. But I wasn't so keen on the slightly synthy keyboard voice, because I'm an old fogey, and guitar tone had a bit too much overdrive for me too. I would personally prefer a more acoustic sound for this sort of ballad, but lots of people out there are bound to disagree. The chorus of voices work OK and I would consider using them a little more on the track to beef up the vocals generally. I hope my anachronistic thoughts are some use. BTW I'd like to hear your comments on my rather trad effort at http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1579812 Thanks, Phil |

celitus,
This sounds like Journey (a compliment). The vocals sound pretty shaky, though I think the vocal melodies are good. Give your main singer a try, I think the song itself is good. Please review my music at this link: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1581578 |

Hey man, solid song when it comes to how it's written but it could be improved in places in terms of production:
The piano/synths all sound great and balanced, matching the production style for the vocals which while shakey do have good hooks to the main melody line. I agree with carsickphil in that an acoustic guitar would seem a lot stronger in this style of song with maybe a distorted solo line over the top? Something to consider. The question/answer thing you've got going on with the vocals/chorused vocals is pretty cool and just need to be tightened up pitchwise. Besides that, it's a good ballad that has neat ideas in there! If you've got a moment, mind checking out my song?: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1581826

nice laid back song, the vocals are really nice, I love the contrast with the distorted guitar coming in on the soft piano intro/verse, sounds very interesting. Very nice song
cant wait to hear the final version C4C?: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1580340
