combo amp for metal

hello,
I`d like to buy a new tube amp.
because it would be for room practice it should be a combo ( because they are cheaper as well). It should be metal focused, but have some good cleans as well. The volume should be able to hold up to drums (when I jam with my friends). It should cost about 500-600 max 700

I really dig the BLackstar HT Club 40

I've played EMGs through it and it has sounded ****ing intense.

I will second that. I own a 6505+ 112, and for metal it is the best thing on the market for the price. However, when it comes to cleans...

Keep in mind Its a hybrid amp but to my understanding all the clipping is done by the tube section despite solid state components being in the signal path. Someone else can probably ramble on about that in more detail but that considered I think its a good value at a $400 used price IF you throw the seventy 80 out the window.

I have laney ironheart that I actually prefer over the ht40 which I've also had. Im pretty sure theres a combo version of it so might wanna check that out too.

Another vote for the illustrious Peavey 6505 1x12.

is the 1x12 enough for drums? Don't I need a 2x12?
I found the peavey 6505+ 112 combo for 450 used. Maybe I can get something even better because I buy it used
Thanks for your time

Got mine for that price. 1x12 is enough, believe me (at least when it comes to practicing, rehearsals and small gigs). This thing is loud. When I get the pre at 4 the whole room rumbles
