I'd still rather a Junior if we're talking P-90 SG guitars.

Only at times, though.

I'd actually prefer a classic if we're talking about p90 sg's. I'm a bit of a binding *****.

Get a special and throw in a full guard routed for a single P-90 + a Maestro. Want.

I have a special place in my heart for juniors. I love single pickup super strats. No nonsense R&R so juniors get me going like no other.

Yeah its cool. I think we're after a similar thing we just get there differently. I prefer to blend neck and bridge to get a nice tight sound that I can still add ass-end to and leave the switch in the middle most of the time. (So I like to have separate volumes as well).

Don't get me wrong, I do that too. That's why I have my LPs wired 50s independent with the middle OoP and my other guitars with odd switching stuff.

Not all my guitars have to be super versatile though. I don't need a neck pickup to play hair metal. I just need a volume knob and I can get all the sounds I want. On the flip side, I wouldn't play any blues with a charvel style setup like that.

volume/tone manipulation is cool and useful, but not always necessary. Sometimes, you just need a guitar you can plug in and wail on.

Yeah I get it. I guess I just kind of (one or two exceptions) treat my guitars like they're each my only guitar when it comes to configuration haha. I really don't need to think like that given the number of instruments I have but I guess old habits die hard.

I will say, I'd rather have a 1 pup gtr with a vol knob than a 2 pup gtr with only one volume.

I always buy a guitar that isn't like one I have, or at least has some features to make it stand out. I start feeling redundant super quick if I have 5 guitars with 2 HBs and crazy splitting/phasing shit going on.

heck I feel silly now for having basically 3 LPs LOL

Yeah I hear you on that. I hate shared vol/tone for 2 pups.
