I cannot believe that there is anything that one could put into a bow that would make it worth ten grand, but some people are willing and able to spend that much, so they do.

It is, but until I have heard and felt it, I can't say whether it is worth the price or not. If it emulates an upright better than the others on the market then it is certainly worth it.

With expensive bows over about 3-4,000 you are paying for vintage and pedigree. I can agree that anything over a couple thousand doesn't make any sense because for 3,000 or so you can have a very skilled modern maker design and balance a bow specifically to your hand and playing style. It will not, however, resell nearly as well as a $10,000 bow from a well respected historal maker.

How classical acoustic instruments are purchased is totally different from modern instruments as well. You usually end up paying the difference in price of your old instrument vs the new one, rather than actually paying 10,000 all at once.

Right there with you. I ran out of everything except for red wine and Jim Beam, so tonight will be interesting to say the least.

But the good news is I did my first tattoo today! Or at least most of it, I'll have to hit the color on another session once its healed. There's even a few decent lines in there

Complaining about a lack of democracy when being one of the ****ing NINE people who gets to actually vote on important issue. That's kind of ****y.

Back to bass things, just bought an Ashdown Dual Band Comp. for 15. Pretty chuffed.

Back to alcoholism, Beavertown may have just overtaken Brewdog in my mind.

Thats exactly his point. Nine people shouldn't decide these things. The whole country should...like the constitution says.

Which isn't saying much I guess, because not very many people really agree with the constitution anymore, unless it supports their cause.

Chris Squire was truly a rock icon. One of the greatest bassists of all time has fallen. We were lucky to have him and his music for as long as we did, and the world - and rock music - are so much the better for it.

R.I.P., man; and thanks for what you gave us. We who play the bass owe you much.

The Danelectro Wasabi AO-1 distortion is my new favourite pedal. I had to take a window out to get it in but this thing is perfect.

An octaver and a wah and my budget pedalboard is complete.
