I turn 21 in September, and I can only hope that the Pumking will not be all sold out.

I'm sure you'll be able to find some. It's usually not all that hard to get, at least around here anyway. The one shop I was at today had a whole stack of cases.

Ok, so I just poured a glass of Arrogant bastard ale. Never had it before. In my cup there are little floating pieces of what looks like crumbs or flakes of something. Is this normal or is the beer bad?

Don't know where you're located, but last year everywhere I had my friend check said it flew off the shelves.

Pennsylvania.

That's the picture the shop posted when they got it in stock. I was there a couple of days later, and most of that was still sitting there.

Yea, at 9 dollars a bottle I wouldn't take it either! You could get a glass of it at the restaurant I worked at for about that much, and I had a bottle for less than 6.

Seems to be what it goes for around here. Another place was selling it for $11.

Not sure. I feel like prices here are higher than a lot of other places. This isn't the first time I've heard of prices being significantly lower in other states.

okay kernel are killing it lately

http://www.thekernelbrewery.com/

their export stout is my fav

also had a pint of this on tap the other day and wow:

http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/rocky-...ale-ale/188893/

was a pricey pint due to abv and limited production (like £5 vs £3.50 for other local brews) but so worth it

Also Saison seems to be the 'in' brew with all the local guys right now. It's an okay type but too 'rustic' for my liking.

It's started to take off over here in the States too. The last couple of years have seen an uptick in saisons. I enjoy them, so I won't complain. Better than the non-stop onslaught of bigger and bolder IPAs. Not that I don't enjoy in your face IPAs, but they've saturated the market.

yeah IPAs are still everywhere, if I go to a bar with local brew bottles/tap, it'll be predominately IPA to choose from. It's more in the shops and at brewer that saison is being pushed as the great new thing.

thing that bugs me is that there's such a huge variation in IPAs, that about half the ones I try aren't for me, while some are really nice. seems to be very hit and miss what you are going to get from a brewery when they call something an IPA. guess I might understand what I might be getting if I turn into a beer nerd but I just wanna drink and not think about such things.

The only IPA that I haven't liked was Sweetwater's.

I think Founder's Centennial or All Day was my fav. Haven't really tried many fancy ones, though.

A few of my favorite IPAs:

Racer 5
Jai Alai
Flower Power
Sculpin
Astounding She Monster Mango IPA

If we're also talking Imperial/Double IPAs:

DirtWolf
Ruination
90 Minute

IPA's are stupid popular right now.

All the idiot beer snobs in the PNW think that if you don't like IPAs, you don't really like beer.

It's so annoying.
