hey we're all friends here, and I never say no to pictures. I saw that tele and was thinking it was that pawn shop version thingy fender has been selling for a few years, but it also did look strikingly like the bari tele. looks great!

im really looking to get one of those agile renaissance 8 string acoustics come January or feb. I think the plan was for Kurt to have more ready to sell by then. I wish I had new gear to share pictures of, but ive pretty much posted everything of mine in this thread, probably multiple times im wanting a green dimarzio illuminator for my swirly warmoth, and ill surely share a pic if I end up getting one. and whenever im able to write something clean, ill have a vid of my agile w/ Q tuner in action.

Halo just announced they will be doing 6 and 7 string custom acoustics if that means anything to you. Baritone and fanned fret options as well.

Alright you guys got me second guessing the ibanez because of the shorter scale. Im still thinking about the agile, but what guitar would you recommend? I want great quality and playability, and id like to spend 800-1400. pickups dont matter much, id probably change them out anyway

Im thinking about an s prestige but they are out of my price range a bit (and honestly, not sure why after looking at the specs). Not a fan of the rg but id consider it i guess. What do you think would be good?

http://www.zzounds.com/item--IBAS5427 Blem 7 string Ibanez S. Out of your price range, but not by a lot.

http://www.zzounds.com/item--IBAS7420QM Cheaper Indonesian Ibanez S. Would leave you with plenty of money for upgrades.

If you're not interested in any of this, give some more info on what you want and I'll look again.

EDIT - You can also consider the Zzounds payment plan. $212.50 for 8 months. http://www.zzounds.com/item--IBAS5527Q

I use it. It's painless.

I LOVE the S5427, ideally id get that, but im just not sure I could justify the price. I currently have a Ibanez s7521qm (a lot like the one you also linked, but fixed bridge) and it has almost the same specs, same body wood, just a slightly different neck, and it cost 350 (bought it blemished).

I also like the ltd, i had the sc-608b 8 string by stephen carpenter, but one thing that really bothered me was the pickup placement. id much rather have the neck one actually by the neck, it makes little sound difference and gets in the way of picking. i really like the tele style though, if it came in white and the pickup was moved id go for it.

The rg seems nice, but i just think the s model is way better. id pay a premium for the s body alone.

Have you considered other Agile models? You can basically get anything on this page with your price range. Just look at anything with the numbers 725 in the model, that will indicate it's a 25.5" scale. http://www.rondomusic.com/7string-ss2.html

There's also Schecter. Lots of people like the KM-7 as of recent, and it is a pretty solid guitar. 26.5" scale, so just a little on the longer side.

If you don't like the bridge, you can block it. You can do it yourself or you can buy and install a Tremol-No.

Maybe you should get it. I have the AW-7. Both are a part of the same "set".

Just a shout out to my peeps on here. Thanks to all who chimed in on my quest to buy an 8 string as well as helping with the setup of my new RG8. My man thestig was crazy helpful as well as others. Thanks again. kent with a balanced set oh 11-86 from Kalium strings ( circle k). And they ate without a doubt fantastic strings. They totally made my neck/ action, tuning all fall into place. I now am officially in love with my new 8 string. Only 2 weeks and my other guitars already feel like banjos or mandolins with such narrow necks. Thanks again all, you guys are the best!

Ordered and put a custom set of strings on my AW-7 from La Bella. They took forever to get here.

The actual production of strings is fast and not at all complex.

Unless they have a guy winding these by hand underneath a microscope. Then I understand completely.

Oh derp. Forgot to say: Pretty great. They all shipped wrapped and sealed in plastic pouches. Happy with the tone and beats dealing with D'Addario singles. D'Addario's thicker singles always seemed kind of dead to me.

Would order again.
