New Amp Day!

Hello all-

So to accompany my new Ibanez...there is a new Marshall Amp!

After much research, I decided on getting a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL MLB (with the black piping instead of the traditional white). The amp is awesome, and recreates many of the sounds you hear on 80's thrash and classic rock albums. What I really love about the amp is how you can get a Zeppelin sound on the first gain channel, and a Priest/AC DC sound on the ultra gain.

The cleans are awesome, and the thing is loud. I don't need my distortion pedal anymore...which I am happy about.

Thank you all- it os a DSL 100. Honestly, I was lucky to find it because i wanted a British Marshall JCM for a very long time. The new DSL looks interesting, but I think they're made in Vietnam.

As a sidenote, the amp handles my Soloist wonderfully, with a rich full sound. My dinky sounds medicore with its active EMG's on clean, but that's to be expected. On the gain channel, those pickups really shine. The Ibanez is getting new DiMarzios so I'll report back on them.

Great amp. ****ing love it. Buy a nice boost or overdrive, and it can do some fairly decent metal tones too. Really tightens it up too.

PS. I know youve probably read this a million times. But trust me. Grab some JJs. It really opens the amp up.

This thread does not help my DSL GAS at all.

Not really digging the black piping, but as long as you like it...

HNAD! Enjoy it!

HNAD!! I just got a Peavey 6505+ yesterday, took it to the studio with my ESP tonight and it blew me away. And holy **** it is loud, like insanely loud! Didn't need to go past 2.5 on volume haha.

I see you have a DSL...do you use a 1960A cab?

You're right about the metal tone...it sounds exactly like the recordings. The gain is pretty intense. I've retired my Tone Driver

Na, I wish. I have a Crate GTSL4x12. It has Celestion seventy80s in them. Theyre fairly decent. It still sounds good to my ears with them.

Nice, I have really been digging the DSL I bought. Just be careful they have over heating issues in the power section PCB. Mine blew after 2 months of buying it.

I like the classic crunch with a boost, it gets really agressive
