Solo in B (C4C)
Hey guys, this is a solo i recorded this morning, I think its pretty neat. Im thinking about making a video of it tomorrow (If I do ill put a link on here to the video). Most of my solos are more 80s sounding, but this one i tried to go for the modern shred sound. I used mainly B Phrygian dominant, the whole tone scale, and a bit of b minor. Lemme know if u like it!

it was so short, I wanted to hear more!! I listened to it repeatedly, and I wanted to hear more!
You should make it into a full song, with what you have as an A section, and maybe write another contrasting section (B), and alternate ABABA or something. It sounds good though. I love that lead guitar harmony that starts at 0:18. Are you using a 7 string, or did you retune lower? And what is your equipment, amp set up, miced guitar or direct? Could you go to my thread and maybe leave a comment there: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1584084

DAT harmony! this was ****ing awesome! I suck at scales however so I can't really judge you on how much out-of-the-box-thinking you are doing, but it sounds very tasteful. I wish my solos could sound like this! I think it could be improved even more with a slowdowned section after the initial thing and add a soulful petrucci-ish solo.

Thanks a lot man! I appreciate it! Im using an 8 string actually, but i dont go lower than the low b. So the rhythm would be playable on a 7 string. The solo itself doesnt go below the low e string. The guitar is an ESP LTD H-338, and i ran it direct in through a behringer ai, into reaper, the lead is through guitar rig 4 (Gods love patch) and I eqd the guitar rig tone a bit after, and the rhythm is a patch i made for 7 and 8 string guitar riffs. The bass is just through guitar rig, and i eqd it to fit the kick drum a bit. The drums are addictive drums. And Im def. thinking about making it into a full song, i just have to see what i come up with. Ill crit urs now. |

awesomo,
Pretty wild stuff! Nice guitar playing. Wouldn't mind if it was fully developed song, it seems you're already half way there. Please review my music at this link: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1581578 |
